Summer time and the living is easaaaay!!

Okay so I'm Finished College and I have the whole Summer ahead of me.  This was my Fibre Art Course Blog but seeing as I'm finished and I have a blog I might as well keep it going.  So far I've spent my holiday making Jewellery.  I've made loads of necklaces and can't wait to make more.  Turned 21 at the end of April and spent most of the money I made in bead shops lol Started making a dress not my first dress but my first dress using a proper pattern. Exciting!!!  Trying to decide whether to accept my place in University of Wolverhampton..one year and then a Degree in Fashion!! Should I go???? Moving away from home terrifies me but I really really want to go!!

EASTER!!

So it's nearly that time when we all wake up and go in search for eggs in the garden =D Can't believe its that time of year..the year is flyng by.  Over the break I'll be making my final dress and putting together my Gallery notebook. These are the last few projects of the course.  Can't believe its nearly time to say goodbye to BCFE.  After 3 years its the End of an Era ='(  & saying goodbye to the Fibrettes will be a tearful event. But I'm sure we'll keep intouch and theres always Graduation =D   BYEEE!!

Interviews

Now that Mock Interviews are over..its nearly time for NCAD interviews.  Getting nervous!! Have my portfolio ready and have been running through my practice questions. This thursday is interview day... Wish me luck!! Its also the day we choose what work will be put in our end of year show!! I'm putting in my fashion pieces and photography hope they will be good enough for the show!! Talk soon.

I Need A Signal!!

HEY!!
Signal Arts Submission is in.  It was a rush and I nearly thought it wasn't going to happen but It's been received and I'm really excited!!  Our Mock Interviews are over, we have our feedback and now it's time to get everything together for NCAD interviews.  Also heard from Wolverhampton and I have to get my digital portfolio for that together in the coming days.  Thats all for now!!

Okay Go!!

So Reading Week is over, Hand & Lock is Handed up and there is less than four weeks left in College!! Everything is GO GO GO!! Most Briefs are coming to an End so theres loads of Stress lol But everyone is staying positive and looking forward to the End of Year show in Temple Bar!! Committee meeting on Thursday will post any new info as it arives!

The Gallery!

So Me and Mary took a trip to see the Gallery in Temple Bar that will play home to our work in May for our end of year show!!  As it is now the Gallery isn't much to look at but once our work lines the walls it's sure to be brought to life.  As not everyone will make it in to see the gallery before the actual show we decided to take some photos.  Let me know what you think?

Minutes of the Meeting!

All six members of the End of Year Show Committee including me met today to start planning.  We all gave our input and it was great that we all get on so well.  Everything is in motion now!! It's getting so close. So its heads down from now on!! We have loads to plan and get through before the Show!

Photoshop!!

Today began our new photography project.  The brief states we must present 8 images enhanced on photoshop using basic tools and two other images must be to a ( as Caroline put it ) David La Chapelle Standard...haha should be interesting.  We started off with a few basic tools today and it took a while but we all got into the swing of things.  I would like to get some really interesting images from the photoshoot images so I'm really looking forward to this task.

Not Long Now

It's getting near to the end of year show.  Put my name down as a commitee member because I want to get envolved with all the prep.  I'm really looking forward to it.  Hopefully all will go well and I'll have loads to show at it.   Get all the family along to see how great I am hehe.... In prep for after this course we have met up with our Graphic Students to create promotional pieces such as business cards, postcards, stickers etc.. I've seen the plans so far.  Some final touches are needed before everything is taken to the printers.

Lights, Camera, Action

After a slow start to the photoshoots, leaving the whole day running two hours late..it was finally our turn.  The set up was more professional and we had two assistants on a hand to help..professional photographer David Monaghan to help with lighting and a friend of Caroline's to help with direction although we didn't need too much help.  We were focused and knew what we needed to do.  Everyone was happy with the end results.  We got some really good shots..I can't wait to see what Ais does with them on photoshop. I know they will be amazing.

Show Case Ireland

Took a trip to Show Case Ireland on the 24/01/11 at the RDS.  It was a great experience getting to see all the great pieces on show but the main objectve to get business info didn't go to plan.  Although there was a few of the businesses that spoke to me about their products many didn't give me the time of day.  I felt that it was an age thing.  Most of them didn't feel it was important to spend time talking to the younger people that were present.  I got some info from leaflets and brochures tho.  It didn't seem like an event that I would be suited to.

The Camera Loves You!

Hey all,
After all the preperation, we all finally got to do our mock shoots =) They all went amazingly.  It was so much fun! Caroline thinks I could have all my final pictures from my mock shoot..thats very encouraging.  Louise looked fab and she was a natural!! We got some amazing shots, couldn't be happier..so excited for the real thing next week...the nerves are all gone!  Hope everyone enjoyed it and good luck with the real thing guys =)

2011/2012

Okay so its that time of year when you have to apply for college again...I am so glad I didn't have to do that last year...Stress is a word that comes to mind!! After a few heart attacks I am finally ready to send away my UCAS form!! Really looking forward to interviews and getting to see what the UK has to offer!! Really exciting stuff...Please take me!! Going out into the big bad world alone...Scary!! Who will do my washing??? Really hoping for a place in Wales....Hmmm Welsh Rugby Players..don't think I'm going to miss Brian O'driscoll at all =) So I'll keep you posted on interviews as they come =) Talk soon!!

Hi Ho Hi Ho It's Back to Class We Go!! Holidays are over and its back to college tomorrow!  Have my dress almost done just have a fitting with my model to get done tomorrow and then I'll make any alterations that must be made!! Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year Everybody!! Hope you all had a good time celebrating..I got my Dance on =D Been busy working away on 'What we Wore'.  It's really interesting finding out about wedding dresses through the ages.  Going to go down to see my Nanny and see what she can tell me about Wedding Dresses in the 1950's =D .  Speaking of dresses...My dress for the photoshoot is coming along nicely.  I'm so happy that I went for it and I'm proud of myself for getting this far.  It's a pretty party dress and I think it will really add to the shoot!! Right I better get back to work, just 7 days left till we're back to college!! See you all then!!
